Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Strangr (https://strangr.club) and any related services (the "Service") provided by Strangr ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating a session or otherwise accessing the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. We may refuse service, terminate accounts, or report to authorities if we determine you are under 18. The Service is not directed at and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18.

2. Your account

Accounts on Strangr are anonymous. We assign a random identifier when you first visit. You are responsible for any activity from your account, including activity from anyone you allow to use your device. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen or by contacting us.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Harass, threaten, stalk, dox, or sexually pursue any user.
• Share or solicit sexual content involving minors, or any other content prohibited by law.
• Share content that promotes self-harm, suicide, terrorism, or organized violence.
• Distribute spam, scams, phishing, malware, or commercial advertising.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your age.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
• Bypass content moderation, rate limits, or any access controls.
• Use the Service to record other users without their explicit consent. Live calls are peer-to-peer; we cannot prevent recording at the network level, but doing so without consent may violate local law.
• Use bots or automated systems without our written permission.

Detailed expectations are described in our Community Guidelines. Violations may result in warnings, mute, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.

4. Content you share

You retain ownership of content you upload (voice bios, voice messages, text messages, reports). By posting it on the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, transmit, and display it solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to share the content and that it does not violate any law.

5. Moderation and enforcement

We use a combination of automated tools and human review to enforce these Terms. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion. Severe violations involving illegal content may be reported to law enforcement.

6. Live voice calls

Voice conversations on Strangr are transmitted directly between participants over WebRTC. We do not record live calls. That said, other participants may record what you say with third-party software. Treat conversations as you would any public conversation, and do not share information you wouldn't share publicly.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (e.g. Supabase for storage and authentication, ipapi.co for geolocation, public TURN/STUN servers for WebRTC). Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms.

8. Advertising

We may display advertisements on the Service from Google AdSense or similar providers. Ads are clearly labeled. We do not endorse advertised products or services.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and content (excluding user content), is owned by Strangror its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STRANGR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Strangr and its affiliates from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violations of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Strangr is established. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws say otherwise.

15. Changes

We may change these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the Service. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
